Analysis and Testing:
Conduct simulations and tests to analyze the performance of mechanical systems under different conditions (stress, temperature, etc.).
Use analysis tools like finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural integrity, strength, and durability.
Identify and troubleshoot issues or inefficiencies within mechanical designs and systems.
Prototyping and Fabrication:
Oversee or participate in the fabrication of prototypes and working models.
Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that parts are produced to specifications.
Test prototypes to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
Project Management:
Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (electrical engineers, production teams, procurement, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.
Ensure that projects comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Oversee the maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment in industries such as manufacturing and energy.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures, develop repair strategies, and ensure systems operate efficiently.
Implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
