Job Description

This role involves overseeing the reliability and safety of all electrical infrastructure supporting manufacturing and utility systems. The engineer will perform installations, preventive maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting of electrical panels, control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and related instrumentation. The Electrical Engineer will support energy efficiency efforts and play a critical role in equipment qualification processes (IQ/OQ/PQ), documentation, and audit preparedness in a cGMP-regulated environment.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and automated equipment.

  • Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance on control panels, PLCs, motors, and VFDs.

  • Troubleshoot faults and perform corrective actions to minimize production downtime.

  • Ensure adherence to national electrical codes and safety regulations.

  • Contribute to power optimization and energy management strategies.

  • Maintain documentation including fault logs, wiring schematics, and technical reports.

  • Participate in the commissioning and qualification of equipment from an electrical standpoint.

  • Supervise contractors and verify compliance with project specifications.

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams for multi-disciplinary support.

  • Ensure continuous compliance with GMP, safety protocols, and audit standards.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

  • Membership with a recognized engineering regulatory body is an added advantage.

Experience and Competencies:

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in industrial or pharmaceutical electrical engineering roles.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial wiring, instrumentation, PLCs, and motor control systems.

  • Practical experience with low-voltage installations and power management systems.

  • Familiarity with cGMP environments and CMMS tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and electrical schematics.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with high attention to safety and compliance.
