Job Description
The Education Manager and BRACE Team Leader will lead SCI’s education portfolio covering Inclusive Basic Education (IE/BE), Early Childhood Development (ECD), Special Education (SE), and Climate-Smart Education. They will act as the education strategic lead, guiding strategy development, innovation, technical expertise, project design, proposal development, and resource mobilisation.
The BRACE project is a five-year initiative co-executed with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS). It enhances the education sector’s climate resilience against droughts, heat stress, and floods through national, sub-national, and school-level interventions. The role involves leading the project setup, planning, staff management, partnership engagement, and ensuring compliance with both SCI and GCF regulations. The incumbent will also represent SCI in policy dialogues, coordinate with stakeholders, and advocate for climate-resilient education in Cambodia.

Lead and manage the BRACE project implementation and team.
Oversee SCI Cambodia’s education programmes (IE/BE, ECD, SE, climate-smart education).
Ensure compliance with GCF and SCI project management methodologies.
Represent SCI in education and climate resilience dialogues with MoEYS, donors, and partners.
Lead education strategy development, innovation, and resource mobilisation.
Manage grants, finances, and partnerships to deliver project outcomes.
Engage in advocacy for quality, climate-resilient education at national and sub-national levels.
Provide technical assistance, capacity building, and mentoring to partners and staff.
Participate in emergency response operations when required.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Master’s degree in Education Management and/or Climate Change Studies.
Experience (Required):
At least 5 years in leading large programmes or complex projects in education or climate change.
Strong grant, financial, and partnership management experience.
Proven collaboration with government ministries, preferably MoEYS.
Knowledge of climate change impacts on education systems.
Prior leadership roles such as Project Director, Chief of Party, Team Leader for donor-funded projects.
Strong technical knowledge in systems strengthening and community resilience.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills.
Creative problem-solving in resource-constrained settings.
Strong analytical, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
Fluency in English and Khmer.
Competence in MS Office applications.
Commitment to Save the Children’s mission, vision, and values.
Desirable:
Experience working in Cambodia.
Knowledge of research and evaluation methods.
Flexibility to adjust working practices during emergencies.
