Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute (UWRTI) is a semi-autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, established by Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute Act, 2016. The Institute is mandated to: "Undertake research and training services for sustainable conservation and management of Uganda's wildlife resources".

To drive UWRTI vehicles safely and efficiently to various destinations, following the rules and regulations of the road and the organization.
To drive UWRTI vehicles safely and efficiently to various destinations, following the rules and regulations of the road and the organization.
To maintain the vehicles in good condition, performing regular checks, repairs and servicing as needed.
To assist in loading and unloading of equipment, materials and passengers, ensuring their safety and security.
To keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, expenses and other relevant information.
To report any incidents, accidents, damages or malfunctions involving the vehicles to the supervisor immediately.
To liaise with the logistics officer and other staff to plan and coordinate travel schedules and routes.

A valid driving license with at least three years of driving experience, preferably in a similar organization or field.
A certificate or diploma in mechanics, auto engineering or related field is an added advantage.
A good knowledge of the local roads, traffic laws and regulations, and emergency procedures.
A good command of English and at least one local language.
A basic knowledge of wildlife conservation and research activities is desirable.
A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to travel to remote areas as required.
A high sense of integrity, honesty and reliability.
