Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

This is a pivotal role at PEAS, as a Driver who delivers direct support to our Country office staff to all country office errands and the school network.

The Purpose of the Job: To drive authorized passengers, transport goods and services (information) and check the mechanical condition of the PEAS Uganda vehicle regularly and act accordingly in line with PEAS Uganda policies.

This opportunity is both exciting and challenging as we seek to work towards solving one of the world's biggest challenges: ensuring access to quality education for all. To be the right candidate, you need to be resilient and adaptable, not giving up when something does not improve or change immediately, but being energized to find ways to make that change happen.

  • Operating the vehicle safely and adhering to traffic rules and regulations.

  • Monitoring and maintaining the vehicle's overall condition.

  • Following a planned or designated route to reach the destination.

  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of staff.

  • Reporting any issues or incidents to relevant authorities or supervisors.

  • Communicating effectively with passengers and colleagues.

  • Managing documents and paperwork related to the vehicle and transportation.

  • Keeping an eye on fuel consumption, tracking expenses, and maintaining fuel reports.

  • Adhering to the health and safety protocols and guidelines.

  • A High Diploma in Education from a recognized University / Institution.

  • With a valid driving permit.

  • Experience in manual cars
