Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant posts that exist in Pallisa District Local Government under UGIFT Program and also on replacement basis. Applications must be addressed and submitted in triplicate on PSC Form No.3 (Revised 2008) and or form ESF3 (for the post of Education Assistant II) to The Secretary District Service Commission PO Box 14 Palisa not later than 11 December, 2024.

Applications should bear 3 recent passport size photographs, copies of certified academic documents, registration certificates, practicing licenses, Curriculum Vitae, National Identity Card and other relevant supporting documents with contact phone number. Any candidate falsifying documents will bear personal legal accountability. Only successful applicants will be contacted at all levels of the recruitment.

How to Apply

Responsibilities

  1. Guest Transportation:

    • Provide timely and safe transportation services for guests to and from designated locations, including airports, local attractions, and other destinations as requested.

    • Assist guests with luggage and ensure a comfortable experience during transport.

  2. Vehicle Maintenance:

    • Perform regular vehicle checks and ensure cleanliness, fuel levels, and basic maintenance (such as tire pressure and oil levels).

    • Report any mechanical issues or damages to management for prompt servicing.

  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to traffic laws and hotel driving policies, ensuring passenger safety at all times.

    • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor while driving, even in high-traffic or stressful situations.

  4. Customer Service:

    • Greet guests warmly, answer questions about the local area, and provide information about hotel services.

    • Ensure guests are comfortable and attend to any specific requests they may have during the journey.

  5. Log and Schedule Management:

    • Keep a daily log of trips, mileage, and fuel usage, and update relevant records.

    • Coordinate with the front desk or concierge for guest pickup and drop-off scheduling.

Skills Required

  • Driving Proficiency: Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with guests.

  • Knowledge of Local Area: Familiarity with the area’s roads, traffic patterns, and points of interest.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license with the necessary endorsements (such as a commercial driving license if required).

  • Prior experience in a similar role within a hospitality or transportation setting is preferred.


Working Conditions

  • May involve irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on guest needs and hotel occupancy.

  • Expected to maintain a professional appearance and adhere to hotel grooming standards.
