Job Description
The Driver will transport HAC staff to project sites, deliver mail and materials, and ensure all journeys are conducted safely and efficiently. The role involves maintaining vehicle cleanliness, ensuring timely servicing and insurance renewals, and reporting any mechanical issues. The Driver must ensure compliance with traffic laws and organizational policies while fostering a professional and supportive environment for staff during travel. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to dynamic field conditions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Drive HAC staff safely and courteously to designated sites.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior).
Ensure timely servicing and maintenance of vehicles, keeping proper service records.
Report mechanical problems and follow up on necessary repairs.
Ensure vehicle insurance, road license, and related legal documents are up to date.
Notify supervisor three weeks in advance of renewals (insurance, licenses, etc.).
Deliver mail and messages as directed.
Support field operations through reliable transport.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of an O-Level Certificate (A-Level is an added advantage).
Valid driver’s license (Class D1 preferred).
At least 2 years’ driving experience, preferably with NGOs.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
