Job Description
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries invites applications from qualified and experienced individuals to fill 15 Driver positions. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of ministry vehicles, ensuring reliable transport of staff, equipment, and official materials in support of ministry programmes and field operations across Uganda.
Project Name: Uganda Climate-Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP)
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Drive Ministry vehicles safely and responsibly in accordance with traffic regulations and government transport policies
- Transport authorized staff, officials, and visitors to official assignments, meetings, and field activities
- Ensure proper daily inspection, cleanliness, and routine maintenance of assigned vehicles
- Keep accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption records, and mileage reports
- Report mechanical faults, accidents, or incidents promptly to the supervising officer
- Ensure vehicle insurance, licenses, and service schedules are up to date
- Support loading and offloading of official equipment and materials when required
- Observe confidentiality, professionalism, and proper conduct while on duty
- Perform any other transport-related duties as assigned by supervisors
