As we expand our operations in Uganda, we are seeking a skilled Drilling Machine Operator to support our water borehole projects.
Position Overview
The Drilling Machine Operator will be responsible for operating drilling rigs and related machinery, conducting site assessments, and ensuring safe and efficient drilling operations. This role requires technical proficiency, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Operate drilling rigs and equipment for water borehole installations.
Set up, monitor, and maintain drilling machines to ensure optimal performance.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
Work closely with project engineers and site supervisors to meet drilling specifications and deadlines.
Conduct pre-drilling site inspections to assess conditions and feasibility.
Maintain detailed records of operations, materials used, and site conditions.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Certificate in Borehole Drilling or a related field.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a drilling machine operator (preferably in borehole/water well drilling).
Solid technical and mechanical knowledge of drilling systems and machinery.
Ability to diagnose and resolve basic equipment faults or malfunctions.
Physically fit and able to work long hours in outdoor and remote environments.
Strong understanding of safety standards and operational procedures.
Reliable team player with good communication and coordination skills.
