Decent Work and Social Protection Officer job at Enabel

Joining Enabel as a Decent Work and Social Protection Officer you will be directly reporting to the Project Manager- Social Protection and Decent Work and you will perform the following key tasks;
You cooperate and coordinate closely with government officials and agencies parliamentarians, and development partners including UN, Civil Society Organizations, research institutes, employer and worker organizations, and private sector
You support direct grantees (international and national) for the grant planning, implementation, and evaluation
You provide technical input to tackle gender-based discrimination and Gender Based Violence in the workplace

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Social sciences, Development studies, or a comparable field of studies
Master’s degree in the relevant field is an asset
At least 5 years of relevant professional working experience in decent work and/or social protection together
A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in Africa in the areas of labor rights social protection, gender-based discrimination, and violence in the world of work
Demonstrated experience in working with officials of government ministries, Civil Society Organizations, employer’ and workers’ organizations.
Working experience with Ministry of Gender Labor and Social Development/East African Committee/Parliamentarians is a plus

A 12-month contract (planned start date 1st September 2024) or you are included in the recruitment reserve for a period of 3 years.
You are based in Kampala with frequent travels to Rwenzori and Albertine regions
A salary package comprising an Annual gross salary between UGX 84,000,000 and UGX 96,000,000 that is commensurate with experience and in accordance with our salary scales, medical insurance and a 13th-month paid in December.
