Job Description

The Consultant Data Scientist will be responsible for compiling, processing, and analyzing datasets relevant to urbanization and sustainable development. The role involves producing statistical analyses, designing evaluation frameworks, and documenting methodologies for multiple UN-Habitat reports. The consultant will contribute to evidence-based decision-making by ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and relevance to urban policy frameworks. Technical documentation and structured datasets will form part of the deliverables for the organization’s global reporting obligations.

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Urban Studies, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and evaluation frameworks.

  • Strong technical expertise in managing and processing large datasets.

  • Excellent command of statistical software and programming tools (e.g., R, Python, STATA, or SPSS).

  • Experience working on sustainable development, SDGs, or urban-related projects is highly desirable.

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver outputs within strict timelines.

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
