Job Description
As a Data Analyst, you will conduct research on customer buying and data usage patterns to provide a holistic analysis across MTN’s regional markets. You will extract data from internal and external sources, ensure data accuracy through clean-ups, and report on performance metrics aligned with business objectives. The role requires developing dashboards, reports, and presentations, conducting statistical analysis, and providing insights that support campaign consolidation, integration, and optimisation. You will also coordinate with IT to ensure data availability and integrity, support the automation of customer analytics, and leverage systems such as USD/JAZZ for logging and processing customer requests. By interpreting data and recommending actions, you will play a critical role in supporting MTN’s growth strategies and improving customer targeting.

How to Apply
Research and analyse customer buying and data usage patterns.
Extract, clean, and validate data from internal and external sources.
Scrutinize data to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).
Report on performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
Deliver market intelligence and insights using customer analytics.
Develop dashboards, graphs, reports, and presentations of findings.
Perform basic statistical analysis and generate monthly/ad hoc reports.
Prioritise requests and coordinate with IT for data availability and integrity.
Support the automation of customer analytics systems and processes.
Provide recommendations for campaign integration, optimisation, and targeting.
Plan and coordinate data extraction and reporting processes.
Monitor competitor activity and identify new opportunities for business growth.
Education:
3-year Degree/Diploma in Commerce (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data analysis or a related specialization.
Experience supervising others (advantageous).
Experience working in a medium-sized organisation.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong statistical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in data reporting, dashboard development, and visualization.
Knowledge of data systems and applications (e.g., USD/JAZZ).
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to prioritise, plan, and manage reporting processes.
Innovative and resourceful in achieving outputs with limited resources.
Business acumen and understanding of competitor dynamics.
