Job Description
The Data Acquisition Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating electronic data acquisition systems during field operations. The technician will ensure accurate measurement and recording of parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow rates during oilfield service jobs. The role also involves troubleshooting equipment, calibrating sensors, maintaining data integrity, and preparing detailed reports for clients and supervisors.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Install and configure data acquisition equipment on site.
Monitor and record real-time data during field operations.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of sensors and instruments.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or software issues.
Compile, analyze, and interpret data for technical reports.
Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure data accuracy.
Maintain and update all technical documentation and data logs.
Adhere to safety protocols and company operational standards.
Provide technical support during pre-job planning and post-job evaluations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
Experience: At least 2–3 years in a similar role within oil and gas operations.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data acquisition systems and software.
Understanding of pressure, temperature, and flow measurement technologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in remote field environments.
Team player with attention to detail and high data accuracy.
