Job Description
Based onsite in Owerri, the Credit Officer reviews and evaluates loan requests, analyzes client financial information and risk ratios, and recommends approval or rejection in line with company policies. The role prepares applications and maintains complete, accurate records; follows up on renewals; sets up repayment plans; and conducts daily/weekly collections. The officer will engage clients across key areas of Owerri (e.g., World Bank Market, Douglas, Ideal Suit Junction, Concord Junction, Control, Wetheral Road, Okigwe Junction, IMSU Junction), delivering strong customer service while safeguarding portfolio performance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Review loan requests and prepare complete application files.
Assess clients’ financial status; evaluate creditworthiness, risks, and affordability.
Contact clients to collect financial data and supporting documentation.
Analyze risk and recommend approval/rejection; set up repayment plans.
Maintain up-to-date records of applications, disbursements, and renewals.
Monitor active loans and follow up on due/overdue repayments (daily & weekly collections).
Provide courteous customer service and guidance throughout the loan cycle.
Adhere to lending procedures, documentation standards, and compliance policies.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
NCE/OND/HND/BSc in Banking & Finance, Economics, or related field.
0–3 years’ experience; prior Credit/Loan Officer experience is an advantage.
Working knowledge of lending procedures/products and basic credit analysis.
Ability to create and process financial spreadsheets (MS Excel).
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Customer-service oriented; organized and diligent with documentation.
Benefits: Starting salary ₦100,000; bi-annual profit sharing; HMO; flexible hours (11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.); annual appraisal; performance-based salary review.
