Job Description
The Credit Officer prepares and reviews loan applications, evaluates clients’ financial status, calculates risk ratios, and recommends approvals or declines in line with lending procedures. The role gathers and verifies documentation, sets up repayment plans, maintains complete loan records, conducts renewals and follow-ups, and performs daily/weekly repayment collections. The officer also tracks portfolio performance and engages clients to ensure timely disbursements and repayments while delivering excellent customer service.

How to Apply
Review and process loan requests in line with company policies.
Assess clients’ financial status; evaluate creditworthiness and risk.
Contact clients to collect/verify financial data and documentation.
Analyze risk and recommend approval or rejection; set up payment plans.
Maintain accurate, updated records of applications and active loans.
Follow up on renewals; monitor progress of existing loans.
Conduct daily and weekly repayment collections and reconciliations.
Provide customer support and escalate issues where necessary.
NCE/OND/HND/BSc in Banking & Finance, Economics, or related field.
0–3 years’ experience as a Credit Officer/Loan Officer or similar (customer service experience an advantage).
Hands-on knowledge of lending procedures/products; strong analytical skills.
Ability to create/process basic financial spreadsheets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; client-service mindset.
Benefits: Starting salary: 100,000; bi-annual profit sharing; HMO; flexible working hours (11am–6pm); annual appraisal; performance-based salary review.
