Job Description
Job Title: Credit Manager

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The purposes/main accountabilities for this role are in the following tasks:
Works with other stakeholders to establish an appropriate strategy and enabling policies in support of the business strategy for all lending products.
Works with other stakeholders to set up/upgrade the risk infrastructure (people, systems, etc.…);
Supporting appropriate policies for different customer segments, allowing the sales team to enter approved target market segments.
Review credit products and make appropriate recommendations where product is leading to high losses.
In partnership with the business, take the responsibility for the credit performance.
Provide hands-on training to the risk management and business teams.
Work with the stakeholders to deliver the results within the risk governance framework.
Work with the Group/Regional Credit, Group Corporate credit and /or Local Board to obtain approvals beyond the approved authority levels of the Country Credit Committee (BCC).
Ensure credit risk management in the credit processes that maintains the banks’ exposure within set internal parameters
Manage the credit risks associated with lending, transactional banking, trading, and investment activities, with the primary objective of assessing and managing risk within acceptable parameters.
Provide high-quality analyses of credit facilities with appropriate recommendations to approving committees of the Bank. Present credit applications to credit committees when required.
Provide effective monitoring of the risk grade of credit facilities. Make recommendations to management and credit committees regarding credit applications.
Identifying high risk credit accounts and undertake the necessary corrective action.
Contribute and guide management in the formulation of the bank’s credit strategy. Make recommendation to management and credit committees regarding industry trends, their implications and appropriate actions to take.
