Job Description
Reporting to the Study Coordinator, the Research Assistant Nurse will:
Support clinical data collection, patient engagement, and informed consent processes.
Ensure compliance with study protocols and ethical guidelines.
Liaise with health facility teams for smooth implementation of study activities.
Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and address data queries promptly.
Collect and handle biological samples, document adverse outcomes, and prepare referral reports.
Provide flexible support, including work on weekends/public holidays and local travel within Kaloleni, Malindi, and Rabai sub-counties in Kilifi County.

How to Apply
Obtain informed consent ethically from eligible participants.
Collect accurate and high-quality clinical/research data.
Record adverse events and maintain patient referral documentation.
Work with hospital staff to ensure timely data and sample collection.
Serve as liaison between study team and facility staff.
Ensure data accuracy and address queries promptly.
Support other projects within CoEWCH as required by the Principal Investigator.
Academic/Professional Qualifications
Diploma in Kenya Registered Nurse Midwife or Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse, or equivalent.
Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Experience
At least 1 year in clinical research (community or health facility level).
Experience in maternity, antenatal, or child health units.
Experience with paper and mobile data collection tools.
Experience handling biological samples and using electronic medical records.
Prior work in public health facilities is required.
Experience in clinical trials will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication in English and Kiswahili.
Attention to detail and accuracy in patient recordkeeping.
Professionalism, sensitivity, and ethical handling of participants and staff.
