Job Description
The Construction Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations at Kivu Choice’s construction sites, ensuring work aligns with project plans, safety standards, and timelines. The role involves managing site workers and subcontractors, organizing resources, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring all activities adhere to company and regulatory safety requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and technical interpretation skills, working closely with the Construction Manager to deliver high-quality construction outcomes that support the company’s growth objectives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise daily construction site operations and ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
Monitor construction teams, subcontractors, and site workers to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
Organize and coordinate materials, equipment, and labor resources to meet project requirements.
Communicate effectively with the Construction Manager, suppliers, and team leads to ensure timely completion of work.
Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, daily logs, and material usage.
Identify and report construction delays, risks, or quality issues promptly.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and clear instructions to site teams.
Foster teamwork, discipline, and adherence to operational procedures and safety policies.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of a Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering or a related construction field.
At least 3 years of experience in construction supervision or a foreman role.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Proficiency in English; Kinyarwanda is an added advantage.
