Job Description
The Consortium Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and coordination of the Kenya Cash Consortium. Key duties include safeguarding the consortium’s vision, mission, and interests, representing it to donors, government, and coordination platforms, and ensuring coherent strategy across partners. The role involves managing programme implementation modalities, overseeing local partners’ performance, and ensuring adherence to donor requirements. The Manager will convene steering committee meetings, support knowledge capitalization, facilitate advocacy through position papers and statements, and ensure timely and accurate reporting. The position requires balancing strategic leadership with hands-on project management and technical oversight in a humanitarian and development context.

Protect and promote the vision, mission, and interests of consortium partners with external stakeholders.
Represent the consortium to donors and government authorities.
Participate in technical working groups, including the Kenya Cash Working Group.
Lead the drafting and dissemination of position papers, reports, and advocacy releases.
Convene and chair consortium steering committee meetings; follow up on action points.
Develop and maintain a coherent consortium strategy across partners.
Define project implementation modalities and methodologies (beneficiary identification, distribution, sensitization).
Oversee and monitor implementing partners, ensuring quality standards.
Establish and coordinate program capitalization systems with partner focal points.
Ensure all consortium members adhere to donor rules and procedures; conduct training when required.
Ensure timely, compliant external reporting across partners.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Master’s degree in humanitarian aid, disaster management, development, climate change, social work, or related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ project management/coordination experience in NGO, UN, or humanitarian settings.
Demonstrated experience in cash programming (essential).
Preferred experience in disaster management, coordination, and policy advocacy.
Prior work with local authorities and national/county government desirable.
Experience in consortium management/coordination strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent communication, drafting, and reporting skills.
Strong multitasking abilities under tight deadlines.
Proven independence and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Cross-cultural adaptability.
Fluency in English required; Swahili/local languages an advantage.
