To organise, monitor and follow-up of all works to be carried out, to co-ordinate allocated staff and materials and to ensure that standards and procedures are met; to work jointly with the site foreman and site engineer and according to their guidelines with a view to timely delivery and assist in optimising means mobilised.

Supervision: Supervise and direct workers, subcontractors, and other personnel on the construction site or in the manufacturing plant to ensure that tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
Scheduling: Plan and schedule work activities, allocate resources, and coordinate with other teams or departments to ensure that project timelines are met.
Quality Control: Monitor work quality and compliance with specifications, codes, and standards. Conduct inspections and address any issues or deficiencies promptly.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety among workers.
Problem-solving: Identify problems or obstacles that may arise during construction or manufacturing processes and develop solutions to address them effectively.
Material Management: Manage the procurement, delivery, and storage of materials, equipment, and supplies needed for the project. Ensure that materials are used efficiently and that inventory levels are maintained.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between workers, management, clients, and other stakeholders, relaying instructions, updates, and feedback as needed to ensure smooth project execution.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of work progress, materials used, equipment maintenance, and other relevant information. Prepare reports and documentation as required by management or regulatory agencies.
Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to workers to enhance their skills, knowledge, and productivity. Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development.
Cost Control: Monitor project costs and expenditures to stay within budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize resource utilization.

Experience: Typically, a Foreman position requires several years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or a related field, often in progressively responsible roles such as a skilled tradesperson or supervisor.
Education: While formal education requirements may vary, a high school diploma or equivalent is usually required. Some employers may prefer candidates with vocational training, certifications, or associate degrees related to construction, manufacturing, or supervision.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in the specific tasks, tools, and techniques relevant to the industry, such as carpentry, welding, machinery operation, or electrical work, depending on the nature of the projects being supervised.
Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and effectively manage a diverse workforce. Good decision-making abilities and the confidence to take charge and resolve conflicts when necessary.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and best practices to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel. Certification in safety training (e.g., OSHA certification) may be required or preferred.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality assurance to ensure that work meets specifications and standards.
