Job Overview
We are seeking a Commissioning Panel Specialist for the Tilenga Project in Uganda. In this role, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of plant systems during commissioning and start-up phases using an Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS)—preferably Schneider ICSS.
You’ll report directly to the Commissioning Lead and play a key role in ensuring that systems are commissioned according to the project plan, meet technical requirements, and adhere to strict safety standards.

How to Apply
ICSS Operations & System Monitoring
Operate and monitor local and control room workstations during commissioning and start-up using Schneider ICSS.
Adjust process parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, flow) in alignment with operating procedures and project manuals.
Respond to ICSS alarms and initiate corrective actions.
Ensure safe shutdowns and start-ups of processing units and vendor equipment.
Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for new systems and packages.
Conduct functional and performance tests of control systems and field instruments.
Troubleshooting & Optimization
Diagnose and resolve system issues using ICSS diagnostics and tools.
Work closely with Process and ICSS engineers to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
Identify and address deviations from commissioning/start-up procedures and OTPs.
Supervision & Coordination
Collaborate with commissioning engineers, field operators, and vendor teams.
Provide clear guidance to field operatives during commissioning and start-up.
Supervise subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to standards.
Mentor junior operators and team members as needed.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate logs, test results, and commissioning reports.
Report system status, progress, and any anomalies daily.
Submit ICSS mimic updates and change requests to the ICSS Engineer.
Update P&IDs and manage redlining during commissioning.
Oversee control room activities and emergency response protocols.
Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents.
Ensure compliance with both project-specific and industry-wide safety and quality standards.

Technical Diploma (or equivalent) in Process, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
5–10 years of experience in plant operations or commissioning with direct ICSS interface.
Strong hands-on experience with Schneider ICSS is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of instrumentation systems including control valves, transmitters, DCS/PLC, ESD, F&G systems, analysers, and HIPS.
Proven experience in control room operations.
Familiarity with process control, safety standards, and operational best practices.
Proficiency in MS Office tools and ICSS-related software.
Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
