Job Description
The Clinic Receptionist will be responsible for managing patient interactions, appointments, and records to facilitate efficient clinic operations. Key duties include patient registration, processing medical forms and medical aid payments, maintaining clinic equipment and supplies, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The receptionist will manage calls with professionalism, ensuring correct message-taking, and direct queries appropriately. The role also includes assisting walk-in patients or visitors, responding to emergencies, providing information on clinic procedures, and supporting patients with medical aid authorizations. Maintaining confidentiality, patient privacy, and high-quality customer service are central to the role.

How to Apply
Register patients according to established standards.
Assist patients with completing medical forms, including insurance documents.
Maintain clinic equipment, stationery, and medication stock.
Open new patient files and ensure information accuracy.
Process medical aid payments and obtain medical reports where required.
Schedule and manage patient appointments.
Maintain patient records in line with procedures.
Ensure reception area is clean, private, and professional.
Answer calls promptly using correct telephone etiquette.
Provide accurate information to patients and callers.
Record and transfer messages correctly, confirming details with callers.
Assist walk-in guests with meeting arrangements or deliveries.
Provide feedback to patients and callers on queries within reasonable timeframes.
Assist patients in distress and respond to emergencies.
Support patients with medical aid authorization processes.
Follow up with patients on outstanding feedback.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric.
Competencies (Essential):
Ability to work under pressure.
Deadline-driven.
Strong ability to follow and give oral and written instructions.
Professional telephone etiquette.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Special Conditions of Employment:
South African citizen.
Dedicated workstation (desk-based role).
Clear criminal and credit record (MIE checks apply).
Driver’s license and/or reliable transport.
