Job Description
Job Title: Civil Engineer
Organisation: True North Consult
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary:
Review Civil, and / Structural Drawings and Designs, Supervise Suppliers, Infrastructure & RAN Vendors, Schedule Vendors meetings, manage site build timelines, ensure quality and H&S for among others, infrastructure sites builds, RAN installations, necessary documentations, permitting and approvals are done to ensure end-to-end timely project closure as per company Standards
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Daily Progress reports and plans
Make Daily Sites Progress reports and update Trackers
Identify Key Issues, gaps for address and Suggest Mitigation Measures
Cascade Project progress and plans to Civil, Power, RAN vendors & Project Coordinator
Certification and approvals for compliance
Confirm and Follow up Vendor Process adherence for Sites Certification, Permitting and approvals
Review and recommend Electrical & Civil Designs and Specifications to meet Standard Specifications
Confirm concrete raw materials on site, Inspect Earthing and Steel works, Concrete mix grades, tower erection on sites as per Designs and Specifications
Inspect Power, Electrical, RAN, Fiber, MW Works checks and H&S standards on sites
Inspect and approve Tower structure checks, general site acceptances
Timelines management of RFIs
Supervise vendors and Ensure sites Timelines are achieved
COI Site-wise delivery management of plans, RFIs, On-air and Handovers
Organize Meetings to Review sites progress, and Vendor Plans
Involve in end-to-end site candidate location selection from site survey
Choose best candidate to minimize or avoid variation costs and ensure Project kick- off within Business Set Targets
Follow-up end-to-end site Builds from candidate location selection, Certifications, Civil, Electrical Works to ensure no delays in the site deployment process
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree in Civil Engineering or Degree in a related field.
With Ability use and interpret structural design drawings, Design CADs such as AUTOCAD, Good at MS Office such as Excel, Word, Power Point.
Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
Minimum two years’ experience in civil works telecom site supervision Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)
Professionalism, Team player, Able to work under pressure, Self-driven, Attention to detail, able to move and work upcountry/field.
