Job Description
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for verifying financial transactions and records, preparing journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and reviewing budget variances. The role includes oversight of payroll, supplier payments, contract renewals, and compliance with month-end reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical skills, and a drive for results in a hotel or hospitality setting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Verify General Cashier’s report and income journal vouchers.
Review and code supplier invoices and other expense documents.
Verify supplier payments and expense reimbursements with supporting documents.
Review payroll reports and ensure all related documents are accurate.
Prepare and post standard and adjustment journal voucher entries at month-end.
Conduct monthly general ledger reviews and analyze variances against the budget.
Follow up on contract renewals and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Ensure timely completion of accounting reports and support deadlines for team members.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hotel Management.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication in English.
Proficient in accounting software and MS Office tools.
Knowledge of Opera, Micros, FBM, and SUN System is an added advantage.
Competencies:
Results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Teamwork and effective supervision of staff.
Adaptability, customer focus, and drive for results.
