Job Description
The Chemistry Laboratory Analyst will support multi-purpose laboratory testing by applying standardized analytical techniques and protocols to assess a wide range of samples. The position requires knowledge and hands-on experience in wet chemistry, petroleum analysis, and food and water testing, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring timely turnaround of testing processes, accuracy of results, equipment calibration, and data integrity, while continuously contributing to the advancement of testing capabilities within the lab.

How to Apply
Conduct chemical analysis on food, non-food, water, soil, sludge, plant tissue, and petroleum products.
Ensure application of accurate test methods, standards, and techniques in all tests conducted.
Maintain quality assurance and quality control standards in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and GLP.
Manage cost-effective use of laboratory consumables and resources.
Validate and review analytical data before issuing reports.
Use analytical instruments such as Soxhlet extractors, UV/Visible spectrophotometers, XRF analyzers, Densitometers, Flash/Pour point testers, and other equipment.
Develop and validate new test methods aligned with latest analytical standards.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly and report malfunctions.
Ensure proper documentation and retrieval of technical records, samples, and standards.
Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Petrochemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in laboratory testing within a multi-purpose testing facility.
Exposure to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, HSE protocols, and quality accreditation processes.
Familiarity with analytical techniques including distillation, UV/Vis spectroscopy, XRF, and wet chemistry.
Hands-on experience with equipment used in testing water, food, soil, petroleum, and plant tissue samples.
Competencies:
Strong understanding of water and soil chemistry, proximate analysis, and petrochemistry.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
