CDP Country Directors job at GENEX Cooperative

GENEX Cooperative is seeking CDP Country Directors for a five-year, USAID-funded project to strengthen the organizational and operational capacities of cattle cooperatives in Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda. One CDP Country Director in each country will lead all country-level operations, including technical implementation, administration, and financial management. CDP Country Directors will be responsible for accomplishing established project objectives and performance targets by overseeing project performance, identifying opportunities to improve programming, and fostering an active learning environment for project staff and partners. S/he will report to the US-based Global Development Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership, management, technical direction, and multi-stakeholder coordination for all country-level project activities;
Oversee country-level operational and financial administration and management;
Achieve project objectives and quantitative performance targets;
Lead annual country-level reflection, adaptation, and workplan design for each subsequent year;
Identify risks to project implementation and develop reliable solutions in a timely manner; and
Serve as country-level project liaison with USAID, GENEX, and other CDP staff and counterparts.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Host country citizenship or residency with work authorization required;
Master’s degree in agronomy, agricultural business, livestock management, dairy science, international development, business, economics, or similar field;
Minimum of 15 years of work experience required, at least 8 of which must be related to managing international development projects, preferably those related to cooperative development and preferably those funded by USAID;
Previous USAID Chief of Party, Country Director, or Team Lead experience strongly preferred;
Technical knowledge related to cooperative development and/or dairy management strongly preferred;
Experience directly supervising and coordinating multi-level staff required;
Experience coordinating effectively with multiple stakeholders required;
Experience working with the private sector strongly preferred;
Extensive knowledge of USAID administrative and procurement practices required;
Professional fluency in Microsoft® suite, English, and common local languages required; and
Excellent communication and writing abilities and superior interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills required.
