Job Description

The Care Officer will:

  • Issue approvals to insured members seeking inpatient and outpatient care in line with policy guidelines.

  • Monitor inpatient costs and average length of hospital stay.

  • Provide guidance on pre-authorized optical, dental, and scheduled procedures.

  • Conduct hospital visits for admitted insured members.

  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries on medical case management.

  • Receive and respond to medical emergency calls and ensure 24/7 availability.

  • Negotiate discounts with doctors and hospitals for specific cases and procedures.

  • Facilitate referrals and medical evacuations when necessary.

  • Monitor benefits utilization and update stakeholders promptly.

  • Prepare and share timely reports as guided by management.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Education:

  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing or Clinical Medicine.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in care management, medical claims, and/or call centre operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of medical care management and insurance processes.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.

  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.

  • Willingness to travel to branches or work extended hours when required.
