To support our growing operations and customer base, we are seeking to recruit self-driven, results-oriented, and dynamic professionals for the following role:

Reporting to: Branch Manager
Duty Station: Designated Branch
Role Summary
The Branch Operations Manager plays a key role in supporting the Branch Manager in ensuring seamless day-to-day branch operations. This role emphasizes efficient customer onboarding, compliance with internal Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations, operational efficiency, team supervision, and achieving both sales and non-interest income targets.

How to Apply
Supervise and guide Loan Officers to achieve individual and branch-level performance targets.
Support the Branch Manager in leading delinquency and loan committee meetings.
Assist in setting performance targets for staff and verifying accuracy and completeness of loan documentation.
Conduct weekly team meetings to review operational issues, policy updates, and compliance matters.
Facilitate internal and external audits, compliance checks, and HR-related sessions.
Handle complex customer queries and promote cross-selling of Yako Bank products and services.
Oversee account opening, validation, and ensure proper documentation by front office staff.
Follow up on incomplete documentation and escalate as necessary.
Manage cash operations and vault activities at the branch.
Monitor and report significant account movements and manage fee collection, including dormant account charges.
Support issuance and processing of customer requests (cheque books, ATM cards, statements, etc.).
Maintain stock control of branch materials (FD certificates, brochures) and request replenishments.
Foster a productive work environment, encourage a "speak-up" culture, and address staff concerns.
Lead staff performance reviews, recommend training, promotions, or transfers in accordance with HR policies.
Build team capabilities to meet current and future business needs, aligning with individual development goals.
Ensure staff safety and well-being and plan team leave schedules in consultation with the Branch Manager.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or a related field.
A Certified Banking qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a banking or financial institution, with at least 1 year in an operations supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of branch operations, banking products, pricing, and procedures.
Proficient in risk and control management, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
High integrity, professionalism, and a customer-first attitude.
Ability to work across departments and align with Yako Bank’s values and leadership standards.
