Job Description
The Audio/Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining all audio and broadcast equipment for church services and events. The successful candidate will handle mixing consoles, manage live streaming platforms, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the production of clear and consistent sound. The engineer will also be tasked with training volunteers, working with musicians and worship leaders for optimal audio output, archiving services, and continuously upgrading the church's audio-visual infrastructure.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain sound systems, microphones, and speakers
Manage mixing consoles and video switchers during services and events
Stream live church services via platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and church websites
Coordinate with the media team to ensure smooth integration of audio and visuals
Record and archive sermons, worship sessions, and special programs
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly during live broadcasts
Maintain and regularly upgrade audio/broadcast equipment
Ensure backup systems are available in case of technical failures
Mix and balance sound for clarity and consistency
Follow electrical safety protocols when handling equipment
Train and support volunteers in using sound systems
Collaborate with worship leaders and musicians for optimal audio delivery

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education Requirements:
OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Audio Engineering or a related field
Experience:
3–5 years of proven experience in live sound engineering and broadcasting
Competencies:
Proficient in operating digital and analog mixing consoles (e.g., Behringer, Allen & Heath, Yamaha)
Familiarity with streaming software and hardware (e.g., OBS Studio, Wirecast)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure during live productions
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Commitment to excellence in sound production and broadcast quality
