Job Description
The role involves overseeing and executing instrumentation maintenance tasks, coordinating with a team of technicians, and ensuring that instrumentation systems across the plant are operating at peak efficiency. The Assistant Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating instrumentation work, troubleshooting issues, and preparing technical reports while ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will also liaise with mechanical and electrical sections to foster seamless operational continuity and maintenance integration.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform routine check-ups and preventive maintenance of instrumentation equipment.
Coordinate testing, repair, calibration, and troubleshooting of control systems.
Allocate work orders and supervise technicians to ensure adherence to standards.
Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures.
Assess manpower requirements and prepare job schedules.
Monitor and reschedule tasks as necessary to meet workload demands.
Endorse and close work orders in the maintenance database.
Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical sections to ensure efficient maintenance.
Prepare reports, including Preliminary Failure and Root Cause Analysis.
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Section Head.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in instrumentation maintenance.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of instrumentation operation and maintenance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
Teamwork and networking skills.
Ability to manage people and processes efficiently.
