As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and competent Assistant Electrical and Systems Engineer to join our team in Tororo.
Job Summary
The Assistant Electrical and Systems Engineer will support the plant’s electrical and control systems, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and availability. The role involves executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supporting system upgrades, and contributing to plant safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure a strong safety culture within the team and strict compliance with OH&S regulations.
Coordinate corrective and preventive electrical maintenance activities in collaboration with mechanical and maintenance supervisors.
Develop and maintain PLC programs, logic diagrams, and CCR graphic displays for new and existing equipment.
Support integration, testing, and commissioning of software/hardware modifications.
Plan weekly work orders and supervise their execution, ensuring proper time and material tracking.
Create and maintain functional specifications and standard operating procedures for control systems.
Review and implement system design change requests and maintain updated documentation.
Monitor and supervise third-party contractors to ensure adherence to company standards.
Apply FMEA techniques to optimize spare parts management and assess the lifecycle of critical equipment.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
2–4 years in industrial electrical automation and control systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in PLC programming, SCADA, and DCS systems
Knowledge of FMEA and basic problem-solving methodologies
Understanding of cement manufacturing processes is an advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Personal Attributes:
Self-motivated and results-oriented
High level of integrity and professionalism
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage tight deadlines
Team player with excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Willing to work extended hours when necessary
