The National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) is a corporate body under the Ministry of Education and Sports responsible for the development of curricula and related materials for Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary, and some Tertiary institutions. Job Description
The position involves assisting in the design, development, and review of curricula and instructional materials tailored for learners with special needs. The role also includes research, stakeholder engagement, and training educators on effective teaching strategies for Special Needs Education.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in the development, review, and evaluation of Special Needs Education curricula and materials.
Conduct research and needs assessments to inform curriculum improvements.
Engage with educators, institutions, and stakeholders to ensure curriculum relevance.
Participate in the capacity building and training of teachers and other stakeholders on Special Needs Education materials.
Provide technical input on best practices in curriculum development for learners with special needs.
Prepare and submit progress reports on curriculum development activities.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Honor’s Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a bias in Special Needs Education OR
Honor’s Bachelor’s Degree in Special Needs Education.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of teaching experience in Special Needs Education or experience as a Curriculum Developer for Special Needs Education materials.
Age Requirement: 25 – 40 years.
