Lira University was established as a Public University by Statutory Instrument No.35, of July 18th 2015 to expand access to equitable quality Higher Education in the country and to respond to the critical Human Resource Development needs of the country. The University is governed by the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 as amended 2006 of the Republic of Uganda. The University is located in Lango Sub-region in Northern Uganda, Lira City. In order to fulfill the current mandate and to position the University to assist local community and build their capacity for socio economic enhancement, the university has to fill positions with personnel with required skills and experience

Duties:
Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to execute various accounting tasks
Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions
Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payables, receivables, and purchase orders
Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them
Manage payroll activities and release salaries
Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors, and vendors
Verify payments and deposits made through the company account and coordinate with the bank
Create daily reports for management and team members

Qualifications:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks
Understanding of widely accepted accounting principles
Excellent mathematical competencies
Experience with payroll processes is highly beneficial
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
