Job Description
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating sales activities, overseeing regional and local sales teams, monitoring customer preferences to refine sales strategies, and ensuring high standards in service delivery. The role also involves planning staffing needs, evaluating staff performance, maintaining sales records, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures. The position reports directly to the Country Sales Manager.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate activities related to the sales of manufactured products and services.
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and services effectively.
Oversee and manage performance of regional and local sales teams.
Monitor customer preferences and market trends to inform sales strategies.
Plan staffing, coordinate training, and conduct performance evaluations.
Manage sales accounting, record-keeping, logistics, and reporting processes.
Conduct operational reviews to project future sales and refine sales approaches.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Essential Qualifications:
Post-secondary Diploma in a relevant field.
2–3 years of proven experience in sales management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and sales and marketing software.
Fluent in Luganda and Swahili.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Active Listening, Critical Thinking, Coordination, Speaking, Monitoring.
Knowledge in Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Education and Training, Communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience reviewing operational records and forecasting sales.
Understanding of pricing schedules and discount rates.
Ability to promote leasing programs through dealer engagements.
Strong skills in active learning and time management.
