Job Description

The Internship Program is designed to give students practical experience in the Bank's operations and enhance their professional and personal development. Interns will be selected from various academic fields relevant to the Bank’s activities and will be assigned to different departments based on their field of study. The internships will be conducted either remotely or on-site, depending on departmental needs. Interns are expected to possess basic IT skills and fluency in either English or French.

Internships will last between three to six months. Participants will receive a monthly stipend and medical insurance. However, interns must cater for their travel and living expenses if the internship is on-site. This program is not linked to employment, but may serve as a talent pool for future recruitment.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Must be a national of an AfDB member country.

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program or have graduated within the past year.

  • Must be aged 30 or below at the start of the internship.

  • Must be fluent in English or French.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); SAP knowledge is an advantage.

  • Must provide proof of enrollment or recent graduation.

  • Strong interest in development work and alignment with AfDB’s mission.
