Job Title:  Accounting Assistant (Fresher Jobs)

Duty Station: Mukono, Uganda

Salary: UGX 3,200,000/=

Job Summary: 

The Organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the finance team in carrying out program accounting duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing support to the Senior Finance Officer.

Financial Documentation:

  • Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

Financial Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents.

  • Ensure that financial records are properly filed and easily accessible.

Compliance and Audit Support:

  • Ensure that financial transactions and records comply with financial regulations and donor requirements.

  • Provide support to the Chief Finance Officer during audits and financial reviews.

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with non-profit organizations or similar entities.

  • Familiarity with donor reporting and compliance requirements.

  • Certification in accounting (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
