Job Description
As an Accountant at DLP Africa, you will take charge of billing operations, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and QuickBooks accounting system management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies, ensure accurate reporting, monitor receivables, and support audits and budgeting processes. The role also requires familiarity with Ghanaian tax regulations and financial standards such as IFRS or GAAP.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage billing operations including client invoicing and revenue recognition
Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and ensure reconciliations
Resolve billing issues by coordinating with internal departments
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding client payments
Assist in external audit preparation and engage with auditors
Support the budgeting and financial forecasting process
Ensure compliance with Ghanaian tax and audit regulations
Contribute to process improvements and financial system integrations
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACCA, ICA, CA)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in accounting with focus on billing and invoicing
Experience in fast-paced industries (fintech, telecom, insurance) preferred
Technical Competencies:
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP standards
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, macros)
Familiarity with integrating QuickBooks with CRMs or third-party tools
Experience with multi-currency accounting and international billing is a plus
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently in a hybrid setup
Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
