Project Context: BRIDGE Project
The BRIDGE Project, implemented in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, CEFORD, ELECU, and refugee-led community organizations, aims to improve access to secondary education, skills development, and employment opportunities for refugee and host community youth in Uganda. The project runs from 2022 to 2026 and targets youth in Adjumani, Obongi, Isingiro, Kamwenge, Kikuube, Yumbe, Arua, and Koboko districts.
BRIDGE focuses on:
- Expanding access to relevant education and vocational skills 
- Strengthening the capacity of education institutions and teachers 
- Supporting youth transition to dignified work through training, mentorship, and business incubation initiatives 
Position Summary
The Project Assistant – TVET will provide operational and technical support to the Senior Project Officer – TVET in implementing BRIDGE Project activities in southwestern Uganda. The role includes managing relationships with implementing partners, coordinating field-level activities, and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing work plans, budgets, and project activities 
- Lead field-level planning and implementation of TVET scholarship programs 
- Mobilize youth, women, families, and stakeholders to participate in project activities 
- Facilitate training sessions and capacity-building for youth groups, mentors, and community members 
- Monitor TVET program implementation, including club activities and budget utilization 
- Support M&E activities, including data collection, database management, and reporting 
- Build and maintain networks with government and TVET stakeholders 
- Document lessons learned, innovations, and best practices for replication 
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Studies, Technical Education, or a related field 
- Advanced degree in TVET or related field is an advantage 
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in education, TVET, teacher development, or higher education 
- Strong understanding of Uganda’s TVET and vocational training policies and programs 
- Excellent project management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills 
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with standard office software and online collaboration tools
