Job Description
Job Title: Laboratory Technician (2 No Experience Jobs)
Organisation: Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Collecting and examining samples, and reporting on the results.
Referring samples to other laboratories and ensure that protocols are followed
Breeding and training lab animals for research and for science education programs.
Carrying out science education activities using laboratory animals.
Conducting tissue processing and providing storage services.
Establishing a database of necropsy results and creating a system of storing tissue sections.
Undertaking research and project activities.
Collaborating in breeding programs and learning initiatives.
Preparing work plans and budgets for laboratory requirements.
Developing wildlife laboratory standard operating procedures and guidelines.
Establishing a repository system for animal tissue, and processed slide for future reference.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognized Institution.
