Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Duration: 6 months (with potential renewal based on funding availability)

Position Overview
URC is seeking two experienced Drivers to support the Uganda Health Activity (UHA) project in the Mbarara region. The Drivers will be responsible for safely transporting staff and materials to various project sites, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, and supporting administrative tasks when needed.

How to Apply
Safely drive project staff and equipment to various locations across Uganda.
Maintain vehicle records, including fuel usage, mileage, and trip logs.
Schedule and perform routine maintenance and ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle (inside and out).
Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and URC vehicle use policies.
Carry out office errands such as delivering mail, making bank transactions, and purchasing supplies.
Support staff transportation to field sites and during activity implementation.
Prepare vehicles for long-distance travel, especially on rough terrain.
Maintain the vehicle’s first aid kit and other emergency tools.
Assist with minor office tasks such as photocopying, filing, and moving supplies.
Log all daily travel and have transported staff sign the vehicle logbook.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Valid driver’s license and vocational training.
Certification in defensive or road safety driving.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving professionally, including experience in Kampala and regional Uganda.
Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
Basic training in transport and logistics or administration.
Good command of English (written and spoken).
Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and in challenging driving conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with URC or USAID-funded projects is an added advantage.
Additional Information
Only candidates legally authorized to work in Uganda will be considered.
No relocation or housing allowances are provided for this position.
