Literacy and Adult Basic Education (LABE), registration number MIA.NB/2004/10/1197, is an indigenous NGO highly regarded in Uganda for its contribution to basic education, especially for women and girls in marginalised communities.

LABE’s literacy and basic education interventions are strongly driven by national and international development agenda. We are governed by a BOD of Directors that represent government, higher institutions of learning, international and district-level partner organizations.

Our direct areas of intervention include communities in the districts of Northern Uganda and West Nile. We reach other areas within and outside of Uganda through partnerships.
