Makerere University has announced its plans to recruit new Hall Attendants under the institution’s Student Work Scheme, offering a vital opportunity for students experiencing financial hardship to earn stipends while pursuing their academic goals.

This development follows the expiry of current Hall Attendant contracts, which are set to end on 30th June 2025. The announcement was made during a management meeting held on Monday, May 26th, 2025, in the Council Room at Makerere University.
According to Dean of Students Winifred Kabumbuli, the recruitment is aimed at giving more students the chance to gain valuable work experience within the university while supporting their educational journey.
The Student Work Scheme at Makerere University is designed to assist students with financial constraints by offering part-time work opportunities within the university system. In addition to financial relief, the program provides students with hands-on experience in a structured work environment.
Application Details to Be Announced Soon
While the university has yet to disclose the exact number of Hall Attendant positions available or the application timeline, officials have confirmed that full details will be communicated after the current contracts expire at the end of June.
