Tender Description:
This tender covers the design review, construction, installation, and commissioning of solar-powered water supply and sanitation infrastructure in selected districts across Uganda. The objective is to improve access to safe and reliable water services in targeted Rural Growth Centres through sustainable, climate-resilient systems powered by solar energy.
Scope of Work:
The Ministry requires the construction of solar-powered water supply and sanitation systems in thirteen (13) Rural Growth Centres (RGCs) across three lots under the Integrated Water Management and Development Project – Additional Financing (IWMDP-AF). The works include detailed site investigations and designs review, drilling and development of production wells where applicable, installation of solar-powered pumping systems, construction of storage reservoirs and elevated water tanks, installation of transmission and distribution pipelines, construction of public standposts and institutional connections, and development of sanitation facilities. The contractor will also be responsible for system testing and commissioning, environmental and social safeguards compliance, community engagement, capacity building for local operators, and rectification of defects during the defects liability period, all within a 12-month construction period per lot.
