Weighing Vehicles: Operate the weighbridge equipment to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, and containers. Record and document the weight readings for each transaction.
Document Verification: Check and verify paperwork, such as delivery notes, invoices, and shipping documents, to ensure accuracy and completeness. Match paperwork with corresponding shipments or deliveries.
Transaction Processing: Input weighbridge data into the computer system or weighbridge software to generate weighbridge tickets, receipts, or electronic records. Ensure proper coding and classification of transactions.
Customer Assistance: Assist truck drivers and other customers with the weighbridge process, providing instructions on where to position vehicles on the weighbridge and how to obtain weighbridge tickets or receipts.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation of weighbridge transactions, including weights, quantities, vehicle information, and other relevant details. File and organize paperwork for record-keeping purposes.
Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports summarizing weighbridge activities, transaction volumes, and any issues or discrepancies encountered. Provide reports to management or other stakeholders as required.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the weighbridge equipment to ensure proper functioning and calibration. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff for repairs.
Compliance Checks: Conduct regular compliance checks to ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and legal requirements related to weighbridge operations. Report any non-compliance or safety concerns to supervisors.
Assistance with Inventory Control: Collaborate with warehouse or inventory control personnel to reconcile inventory counts, verify stock levels, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments. Update inventory records as needed.
Safety and Security: Follow safety protocols and security procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment at the weighbridge facility. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or security breaches to supervisors or security personnel

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Some employers may prefer candidates with additional education or vocational training in relevant fields such as logistics, transportation, or accounting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic mathematics and computer skills to accurately record and calculate weights, quantities, and transactions. Familiarity with weighbridge software or inventory management systems is beneficial.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to accurately record and verify weights, quantities, and other information. Ability to detect errors or discrepancies and take corrective action as needed.
Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and other stakeholders. Clear and concise verbal communication to provide instructions and information.
Customer Service: Strong customer service skills to assist truck drivers, answer inquiries, and resolve issues or complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills to manage paperwork, maintain records, and keep the weighbridge area clean and orderly. Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors and stand for extended periods, especially during busy periods or inclement weather conditions. Some positions may require lifting and moving heavy objects or materials.
Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing weighbridge operations, including safety regulations and compliance requirements related to weighing and measuring equipment.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth weighbridge operations and timely processing of transactions.
