Job Description
As a Video Editor at Business Insider Africa, you will develop visually engaging video content from concept through completion. You will work from briefs to craft compelling stories using your editing skills, with an eye for detail, style, and branding consistency. This includes selecting appropriate visuals and soundtracks, proofreading text, ensuring factual accuracy, and maintaining production quality. You will be responsible for managing rights and licenses, assisting with event coverage, and staying current with emerging tools and video editing technologies. Collaboration across teams and effective multitasking are essential in this fast-paced role.

How to Apply
Edit high-impact video content for internal and client use
Develop creative ideas and choose appropriate editing styles per project brief
Perform quality control on all edits (images, text, sound, accuracy, etc.)
Ensure all rights, licenses, and permissions are secured for media content
Contribute to the creation and implementation of new video formats
Assist with post-production activities and event coverage
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
Organize and safely archive video footage and production assets
Stay up-to-date with editing tools and technologies (Adobe Suite, Final Cut, Davinci Resolve, etc.)
Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders

2–3 years of experience working on branded video content
Strong portfolio showcasing video editing skills
Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davinci Resolve
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in relation to post-production
Experience in motion graphics (After Effects preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, results-driven, and able to multitask
Familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
Energetic, passionate, and enthusiastic about video production and storytelling
