Job Description
Position: Technician

Job Purpose
To ensure the timely and high-quality installation, maintenance, and servicing of electronic security systems, consistently meeting quality standards and exceeding client expectations for service delivery.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Install alarm systems and other electronic security solutions in compliance with company and industry quality standards.
Identify and report any additional client requirements not covered in the initial quote, both verbally and in writing via the job card.
Safeguard client property and maintain a clean, orderly work environment during all assignments.
Complete installations within the agreed timeframe, promptly reporting any deviations to the supervisor.
Uphold a professional, service-focused image that reflects the company’s values during all client interactions.
Escalate technical issues and communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure swift resolution.
Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues, even during periods of high demand.
Implement installation, maintenance, and service protocols as directed.
Work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure all alarm transmission equipment, control room receivers, VHF radios, and related systems are maintained in optimal condition.
Conduct regular client visits as part of scheduled maintenance and service programs.
Address client complaints professionally and offer guidance on proper system use and care.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Indicators
Zero complaints related to faults or failures from new installations.
Maintain an average of 6 productive man-hours per working day.
Complete all tasks within the agreed quality standards and timeframes.
100% adherence to punctuality and attendance policies.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields. Willingness to pursue further education is an advantage.
At least 3 years’ experience working with intruder alarm systems, fire alarm systems, and access control technologies.
Knowledge of multiple security technologies and solutions is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply creative and logical solutions.
Good time management skills and adherence to safety standards.
