War Child Holland (WCH)

War Child Holland is looking to recruit a TeamUp Coach to support TeamUp implementation by partners across refugee settlements and vulnerable host communities in Uganda.

TeamUp is a psychosocial support intervention developed in 2016 to provide refugee children between the ages of 6 and 17 years with a variety of low structured recreational activities encompassing sports, games, dances, songs and other body-movement activities.

  • Coordinate Team Up trainings;

  • Conduct quality visits to partner staff to ensure adherence to quality standards;

  • To ensure WCH scaling plan is updated by;

  • Participate in consortium Coordination meetings.

  • Support in documenting stories of change with support from WCH Country office.

  • Provide weekly updates, monthly and quarterly reports on the TeamUp implementation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Works & Administration/ Mental Health or any other relevant degree

  • Experience in coaching and mentorship of staff.

  • Must be child-friendly, act in the best interest of the child and be physically active

  • Good social and communication skills including the ability to participate actively in movement-based activities according to Team Up methodology and implementation standards.

  • Demonstratable experience in working with large and small groups of children.

  • Planning, implementation and time management skills.

  • Experience in planning, conducting and implementing structured recreational activities for children (dance, sport, and games).

  • Should be flexible, able to maintain a clear overview and capable of facilitating activities in a child-friendly manner.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Ability to speak at least one of the following languages: Kiswahili, Kinyabwisha, Runyankole, kigegere.

  • Knowledge of additional languages will be of advantage.

  • Ability to understand, speak and write English.

  • Understanding of Child Safety and have a clean criminal record.

  • NB: MUST be a TOT for Teamup
