Job Description
The Systems Analyst I will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that technology solutions align with business objectives. The role involves designing, configuring, and maintaining automation and system integration across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The incumbent will provide technical system support and query resolution and work with system vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
This position requires hands-on technical experience and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a background in systems analysis, card processing, and transaction switching, as well as experience with SQL, API integrations, and relevant automation tools.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Align technology solutions with business objectives
Design, configure, and maintain automated and integrated systems
Provide technical support and resolve system-related queries
Liaise with technical and non-technical teams for system improvements
Document functional and technical requirements and assist with training materials
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous system enhancement
Apply system analysis methodologies to improve business processes
Ensure compliance with governance and quality assurance standards
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in ITIL
Minimum Experience:
2–4 years’ technical experience in systems design, analysis, software development, or systems engineering
At least 3 years' experience in card processing and transaction switching
Collaborative experience with cross-functional teams
Knowledge Requirements (Minimum):
Functional knowledge of IT systems and business operations
Systems analysis methodologies and requirements definition
SQL (e.g. MySQL, Microsoft SQL), API integration (REST, SOAP, etc.)
Functional and non-functional documentation
Ideal Knowledge (Advantageous):
ITIL principles and automation tools
Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
Project coordination
Card processing systems and banking business models
Programming knowledge: JAVA, C#, Python, PowerShell, Postman, .NET, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Jira and Confluence
Skills:
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Business writing and documentation skills
Relationship management and collaboration skills
Numerical reasoning
