Job Description
This role involves planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining server infrastructure, cloud platforms, and desktop support systems. The Systems Administrator ensures disaster recovery readiness, enforces system security standards, and supports productivity tools to enhance business continuity and collaboration. Key duties include managing Active Directory, patching, monitoring server performance, and serving as a technical escalation point for the IT service desk. The role requires strong experience in managing virtual environments, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based platforms, and demands attention to detail, compliance with IT policies, and the ability to support cross-functional teams.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan and design infrastructure for private/public cloud, servers, storage, and virtualization
Install and configure Linux/Unix, Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and security gateways
Maintain and document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting protocols
Support and administer servers (physical and virtual), SAN storage, OVM, and Windows products
Ensure security compliance and business continuity through disaster recovery planning
Manage Active Directory (accounts, DNS, DHCP, group policies, authentication)
Serve as escalation point for desktop support and service desk team
Conduct regular DR tests and maintain disaster readiness
Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to support business operations
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline
Preferred certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server (2016–2022)
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV)
CompTIA Server+, LPIC-1/2, RHCSA
Azure or AWS certifications
ITIL certification (added advantage)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a hands-on IT infrastructure support role
Experience with enterprise storage, virtualization, Office 365, disaster recovery planning
Familiarity with the BFSI sector is an advantage
Competencies:
Proficient in managing Linux, Windows, and UNIX systems
Skilled in PowerShell scripting, SCCM, SCOM, Intune, Endpoint Central
Knowledge of Active Directory, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Teams for Business
Strong understanding of backup and recovery tools
Experience managing server products (HP, Dell) and virtualization technologies
