Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute (UWRTI) is a semi-autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, established by Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute Act, 2016. The Institute is mandated to: "Undertake research and training services for sustainable conservation and management of Uganda's wildlife resources".

Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute (UWRTI)
To install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot the network infrastructure, servers, computers, software and hardware of the institute.
To install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot the network infrastructure, servers, computers, software and hardware of the institute.
To ensure the security, reliability and availability of the institute's data and information systems.
To provide technical support and training to the staff and researchers of the institute on various IT-related issues and applications.
To monitor and evaluate the performance and usage of the network and systems, and recommend upgrades or improvements as needed.
To liaise with external vendors and service providers for the procurement, installation and maintenance of IT equipment and services.

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least three years of proven experience as a systems administrator, network administrator or similar role in a complex IT environment.
Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, network protocols and security standards.
Familiar with various server technologies, such as virtualization, cloud computing, backup and recovery, database management, etc.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Passionate about wildlife conservation and research.
