Job Description
The Strategic Systems Officer will design, maintain, and improve department-wide operational systems that support IRC’s research and innovation work. This includes knowledge management platforms, decision-making processes, proposal development routines, and reporting mechanisms. They will also work closely with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement streamlined, tech-enabled solutions—especially leveraging Microsoft 365 tools, AI, and automation. The officer will ensure user-centered adoption of new systems through structured pilots, change management strategies, and responsive feedback loops. Collaboration with teams such as finance, operations, and business development will be critical for reducing friction and enhancing overall performance.

How to Apply
Design and maintain clear, user-friendly operational systems for governance, planning, learning, and reporting.
Lead structured pilots for new tools and process improvements; ensure sustainable adoption through change readiness.
Implement AI-enabled tools and automation (e.g., via Microsoft Power Automate and Excel scripting).
Streamline internal team workflows, from document management to meeting structures.
Support decision-making through tools and dashboards tracking project goals and performance.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to co-create solutions, especially in finance and proposal development.
Promote internal learning and knowledge-sharing for continuous improvement and self-sufficiency.
Ensure consistency, usability, and reliability of systems and repositories for distributed teams.
Maintain centralized governance frameworks and progress-monitoring routines.
Required:
6–8 years of experience in systems development, operations, or process design in a similar context (e.g., global nonprofit).
Strong technical skills in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Power Automate, Excel scripting) and other productivity platforms.
Proven experience in implementing AI-enabled tools or smart automations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in diverse, cross-cultural environments.
Demonstrated ability to build scalable systems and improve organizational effectiveness.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
Preferred:
Background or interest in humanitarian aid, innovation, or research.
Comfort with light coding, scripting, or AI integration.
Familiarity with agile project management and organizational change processes.
